Is technology the cure all? Is technology a better replacemetn than troops on the ground? I know many of thousands of lives have been kept safe with modern tatics but, will we have one day a mininum manned Military? What's your take!

With being in the military people would think that I would not be able to link new markets and technology together. However today’s military is ran like a company and the 4-star generals are the CEO’s of it.

The new market in the military is the change in more technology and less of the human factor with boots on the ground. Today’s recononsiance missions are not just pilots flying U-2 Aircraft military individuals now have Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) such as the predator flying missions with camera’s and someone in a building monitoring the T.V. screen. Why is this change? Is it a smarter operation? Are fewer lives at risk? People would want that to be the reason, but I believe it is because of money. Again, with these UAV’s individuals have less training for pilots and do not pay the aircraft retirement pay. This is the change in technology in the military. The military is doing more with less in terms of manning. As a member of the military, I know that it is hurting our core strengths. Just over the past few years I have noticed there are truly not anymore specialist when it comes to someone knowing the in and out of the job. Due to manning, we are deploying more and have less continuity in one job. So can you believe technology is better for the military? It is hard not to believe when the people in Washington D.C. make these decisions about adding new technology to do more they cannot see what the true effect is on the Airmen, Soldier, Sailor, and Marine.

In conclusion, maybe the solution is that technology is the future of the military, looking at the research it has saved thousands of U.S. troop’s lives. How can you deny that? As someone who has served the last 11 years in the Air Force, supporting my country maybe it is my time to grow with the technology.
